Best Time to Get a Massage
When should I get a Massage?
The last thing you want is to feel crappy for your event, workout or race. So think ahead so you can plan your ideal day to get a massage. Oftentimes, people will feel quite sluggish after a massage. You want to feel confident and sharp. To me, there are a few key things you can do to make sure you feel your best.
There is no perfect answer because everyone is different. However, I personally feel you should get a massage 3 or more days out from your event. Let’s say your event is Saturday. Wednesday or before would be a good way to go. Massage on Wednesday, day off Thursday and shake out workouts Friday, race/event Saturday.
Another great add-on is a workout after the massage. This will expedite the recovery process even better. The concern to me really is a massage too close to your event. Push your massage further out from your event. A day 3 to 7 days out :)
